…With Big Band Sound
The Local Group
The “local group” is the 8 piece ensemble, Count of Monte Carlo Band. The base guitar player is a local Farmers Insurance Agent, member of the board for the O’Fallon Chamber of Commerce and Industries and come to find out a musician. I photographed Chad Haley as a board member and that is how we met. When he approached me about photographing “the band” my first thought went to the Blues Brothers. My second thought was “sounds like a fun challenge”. Contact “The Band” for your wedding or event.
Here’s a couple slides for your enjoyment.
Fun Fotos
By the time Patty and I arrived at the Peach Festival at Pere Marquette Lodge in Illinois, the peaches were all sold out, but I did catch the photo of Patty in the daisies.
Headlines
A note of thanks to Preston Page for reaching back to his journalism days and suggesting a couple compelling headlines is the last issue of this blog.
Final Thought
I guess a lot of people don’t realize who owns the photographs in a studio. It’s the photographer. We’re trying to earn a living out here which means we have to charge for our work. My work and pricing comes in a couple of categories. First of all, there is a session fee. That covers my time on the project. From that we have a gallery of photos that can be purchased individually or collectively. Once a client selects their images, then there’s the work of retouching and formatting for print. In some cases I sell the digital proofs which are formatted for the web for use in social and business pages like LinkedIn, but not for print.
Here’s a link to my pricing page.
Using unlicensed copyrighted work is unethical, if not worse. (Just a note. I figure anything I put on social could be abused, but I understand that when I post.)
Thanks for dropping in,
Mike
Ps. NOW is a great time to schedule fall family portrait sessions.
