More Than Fifty Years Ago
More than fifty years ago was the last time I had seen the inside of a high school classroom, that is until this week. Looking back, I’d venture to say that the “powers that be” at the time were happy to see me exit their school system because… And that’s another blog.
Anyway fast forward and I honestly couldn’t say for certain that I know any more now than I did then. In spite of that, I was asked to guest lecture 2 classes of high school kids enrolled in the CAPS program. Center for Advanced Professional Studies in the technology group.
John Omoresemi, Technology Solutions Instructor for the St. Charles CAPS program approached me at a Chamber of Commerce luncheon about making LinkedIn headshots for his students and share some of my “wisdom” for these up and coming citizens. (Besides being the instructor, Mr. Omoresemi is an accomplished photographer.)
I found the offer a little daunting, outside my comfort zone, but accepted the challenge. Daunting because I haven’t been around high school students for a long time, and was not sure I’d be able to connect. But I was pleasantly surprised by the entire experience and am hopeful for the future that these kids will create.
Typically I invite my headshot clients to bring a hat or outfit, something fun, to shoot for fun and social. Here a couple of the images we created as “Teacher” and class. Enjoy the slide show below.
Fun Foto
On a mission to create a new piece of art, I shot this beauty a couple weeks ago.
This image prints nicely on metal. The cool colors exude a calming effect. Below is a 8×10 as it sits on our hutch. It would more striking as a 16×20 or larger if you are looking for a piece of art. Contact me for pricing.
Thank you for dropping by today. I’d love to hear from you in the comment box below.
Be safe,
Mike
