No one I’ve ever spoken to around here (Saint Louis) at least, has ever complained that the winter was too short. In fact nine out of ten people surveyed last week indicated they were sick and tired of this (expletive) long, cold, grey winter. And it’s not looking so great today April 14, 2019.
A friend of mine and registered nurse once commented that I might have Seasonal Affective Disorder. I immediately defended the health of my mind by explaining I’m perfectly normal but just get real, real sad when the leaves fall off the trees. I’m probably the only one on the planet that feels this way.
Another thing that could make me sad (but I refuse to let it) is that Patty often takes better photos than I do and I’m supposed to be the expert around this here.
A person cannot just sit around the house all winter I mean spring, so yesterday Patty and I took a walk down Main Street in Saint Charles. The sun did make an appearance, but failed to get the tempratures up to normal. We came across a flower bed of tulips and while I was busy over exposing my macro masterpeice, Patty saw the bigger picture and captured this image with her iPhone. It is full of color, all the tulips, the redbud tree in bloom and the photographer in his happy place. Good shot Patty!
Final thought. I probably wouldn’t appreciate spring as much if it wasn’t for the long cold (expletive) winter. Now that I’ve got that off my chest I can get to work on my taxes.
ps. If you are one of “those” people and already finished your taxes, you might have time to view some of my favs.
