Our Wedding March 16, 2025
Well there’s nothing like getting married when your 70 years old. (The bride is not that old – for the record.) When asked why we decided to get married now I would joke around saying “It’s about time”. But the truth is it was the right thing to do, and I knew it in my heart. So did Patty. Now, when asked how married life is going, I say without hesitation, “I love it!”.
Patty and I have been together for about a dozen years. And we’ve had one or two discussions about getting married before. The discussion got serious at the beginning of this year. Things like health situations, family considerations, end-of-life issues and legacy. She finally said yes one freezing winter day in January after she stepped outside to get the mail and found the door locked… until she finally came to her senses and said yes at the top of her lungs (it’s difficult to hear anything through our front door). It was very romantic.
After securing our venue, Third Wheel Brewing (thank you Ron and Val) and our officiant, my lovely friend Heather Kemper (thank you Heather), we announced our wedding on Valentine’s Day, leaving us six weeks to put it together. Sounds crazy, doesn’t it?
Many of our friends and family couldn’t attend because of the short notice. Then there was a tornado two days before the wedding requiring some of our guests to take care of damage to their homes or family or neighbors property. Now that I finally have the photos and video, I’ll share a moment or two with you.
First, A Little Slideshow Celebrating Our Engagement
This video is 4:10 and mostly selfies over the past years in no particular order.
Secondly, A Video Documenting The Event
My friend Sarah Morard with Brand Buzz Media provided video coverage. She’s mostly a social media diva and it took a little arm twisting to get her to attempt a wedding video which was slightly out of her comfort range, but she gave us exactly what I was looking for in this 6:47 video. Thank you Sarah!
Finally, A Charming Slideshow By An Exquisite Photographer.
Patty and I are fortunate to have a Master of Wedding Photography living in our community, and just so happened to have March 16 open. For me, it was a no-brainer to hire Kim Lorenz of Creative Visions Photography to document our special day. Enjoy this 4:03 slideshow. Thank you Kim!
Wrapping It All Up
Patty and I are grateful that you dropped by had happy to share these very special moments with you.
